Wimborne History Festival

Wimborne History Festival

A thrilling new event on the site of Vespasian’s fort near Wimborne Minster, Dorset, will be bringing local history alive this summer. Invading Roman legions, warring Vikings, Civil War reenactments, and encampments from the Bronze and Iron Ages, will evoke the sights and the sounds of centuries past, from domestic life to skirmishes, warrior training to battles!

Try your hand at pottery and other ancient art and craft activities, enjoy music, dance and storytelling, or browse the stalls, exhibitions and weaponry displays.

On the eve of the festival (Friday 15th July at 7pm) award-winning writer and performer Alison Neil brings her fast moving and entertaining play about Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s many wives, to Wimborne’s Allendale Centre.
